Cursed Hebenon's fourth release, fd01, is music conceived, composed for and released on 3.5" floppy disk. Most music termed "experimental" explores the possible by pushing towards the edges of what is technology possible, particularly in anything to do with computer technology, which is driven by commodity consumption economics. Often the possibilities of any technology are never fully explored before they are abandoned and the next one taken up.

What began in 2010 as a exploration of databending's potential for harsh noise for free-noise and electro-acoustic artist David K, formerly of Brisbane underground noisemakers dada-meinhof, has grown into a free-form exploration of the creator's fascination with the intersection of marginal art forms, open-source software, obsolete technology and improvisation at a composition, rather than performance, level.

The recordings represent tracks assembled from electro-acoustic improvisations, databending, field recordings and open-source drum machine software, which is then compressed to create severe artefacting, making most of the original sounds unrecognisable. The tracks that survived compression made it to floppy disk.
